It depends on the solution. WordPress shills are quick to admit they use it for every site regardles. But if you want a better content-based alternative, Processwire is orders of magnitude better than WordPress.

Hi Arastoo, there are still plenty of new developers out there (and more every day) who may just need to familiarize themselves with the big names in the CMS industry. If you're looking for info on other solutions, I encourage you to run a quick search on Developer Drive with CMS as the keyword. On the first page you'll find posts about Backdrop, CraftCMS, Grav CMS, and more.

on Your Indispensable Guide to WordPress Theme Frameworks

Hi Texx, thank you for sharing your experience! While what you are saying is true, I feel that it's more of a requirement and cost thing. By this I don't just mean "but that's what my client wants and they are only willing to pay in peanuts and want it done in two days" scenarios. I know of a few web development agencies in my circle who have shifted to theme frameworks for their portfolio. Their portfolios consist of a few pages so the slow down doesn't effect them that much and they can manage to revamp their whole site with just one of their guys working on it in under a week so it saves them effort (and thus money too).

on Your Indispensable Guide to WordPress Theme Frameworks

I like theme frameworks. But one of the very real cons of every theme framework is lower speed, higher download time and more client side processing. I list three and say one because they are all caused by the same thing: JS support for every feature the theme has. This can't be eliminated (without removing features from framework), only partially mitigated, but in my experience it often isn't even mitigated.

on 6 Ways to Organize Your CSS

Hi Ezequiel, do not forget of suggesting that we have a separate JavaScript file for every page. For example, Bootstrap and Bootstrap offers separate SCSS files and separate JavaScript files and we compile only selected SCSS files. As I do not want to use JavaScript files and codes for optimising the site and keeping it faster to load, I remove some SCSS files which require to use JavaScript from bootstrap.scss and materialize.scss. I use another programming language to reutilise automatically and unify three files – metadata and scripting, heading and footer, on each page for resynchronising the CSS files and JavaScript files, and after put a separate CSS files after heading, and put a separate JavaScript file before footer which is before </body>.

I have used WAPPPRESS for a number of my clients at US and there is no complaint at all. It has native app features like Push notifications and Admob. I highly recommend this plugin for all those who need an android or iOS mobile app instantly without spending huge amount of money. on 9 Frameworks to Watch in 2017

I stopped chasing languages and toolkits 25 years ago and you know what is funny? Authoring a decent web app has grown so convoluted and unnecessarily verbose and sadly convoluted that I feel as if I'm coding on IBM's AIX with the X11/Motif window manager libraries in C. In fact, I may argue that X11/Motif in C is easier coding up an application with nodeJS, sass, partials, mixins, gulp, npm, HTML5, and bower. Not to mention the debugging environment. Find a language and toolkit with a steady upwards curve that is starting to appear in job reqs, then learn the shit out of it. Put on blinders, do not look at shiny things or the fact that cool kids jump languages/frameworks every year or two yet develop nothing, and keep plugging away. In 2 to 3 years you'll make the big bucks. Repeat that cycle every 7-10 years and you'll be in good shape.
